Title Waking Giants: China Opportunities for UK Life Sciences
Date 21st June 2007
Time 14:30 - 18:30
Venue DTI Conference Centre, Victoria, Street, London
UK Trade & Investment invites you to a free seminar looking at the exciting opportunities that exist for UK life sciences companies in the city of Tianjin.
This seminar focuses specifically on the city of Tianjin which, with Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing, is one of only four "provincial level cities" in China – reporting directly to central government.
Boasting both the largest port and the largest freight airport in northern China, Tianjin has excellent transport links and infrastructure, and its location, close to Beijing and central to the Bohai area, ensures it is geographically well positioned.
Now, with the Tianjin Economic and Technology Development Area (TEDA), a state level development zone, Tianjin's goal is to become a new international centre for modern industry. TEDA is committed to working with foreign companies and over 33,000 companies have settled in TEDA since it was inaugurated in 1984, investing a total of USD15billion.
