Event Description
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) predicts that the Mainland's domestic air travel market will grow by 14% annually until 2010, and from 2011 to 2020; the annual growth rate will be around 11%. China's airline fleet has more than doubled in the past seven years, from 560 aircraft in 2000 to more than 1,300 now. According to Airbus, China will need some 2,800 new passenger aircraft and freighters (accounting for 11.6% of the total figure in the world) from 2007 to 2026, with a total market value of US$ 329 billion.
UKTI in conjunction with SBAC are organising a mission to China in September to enable UK companies to meet with the key aerospace manufacturing organisations and get a better understanding of the market and opportunities for new business. The mission will be focused around a visit to the Beijing Airshow and there will opportunities to meet COMAC to discuss the C319 programme and to meet AVIC to discuss partnering on aerospace projects in China.
More details of the mission including the draft programme are available in the flyer below.
