Tangshan is well-recogonised as the ceramic capital in north China. There are a number of key ceramic manufactories located in Tangshan. Since the first China Ceramic Fair Tangshan in 1998, the annual event has been successfully held for nine years, and the number of exhibition booths amounted to 1,160 in the ninth fair. The trade volume of the latest fair amounted to 1.82 billion RMB yuan (about 0.23 billion US dollar). The exhibitors were not only from famous domestic ceramic areas, such as Tangshan, Jingdezhen, Zibo, Liling, Chaozhou and Dehua etc, but also from the UK, USA, Italy, ROK, and other countries. There has been increasing number of buyers in the fairs, including ceramic trade corporations, real estate corporations, supermarkets, and relvant industry associations such as China Hotel Association, etc. Many domestic and international traders also attended the fairs for visit, trade talks and ordering. According the the organiser, China Ceramic Fair Tangshan is currently the most professional ceramic exhibition in the whole country.

The 10th China Ceramic Fair Tangshan will be focusing on High-tech Ceramic products, industrial and physical-chemical ceramics and ceramic machines.

Tangshan enjoys a favorable geographic location with convenient transportation and communication facilities. It is connected with Beijing by expressway. Tangshan is 150km away from Beijing airport, so it takes 90 minutes to get there by bus. There are two main rail ways, Jing-Ha, Jing-Qin running through in Tangshan. As for sea-route transportation, there are two harbors in Tangshan; one is Jing-Tang harbor, another is Caofeidian harbor. The goods can be transported to all parts of the world from Tangshan.
