A major drive to get Bristol firms trading with China is being launched this month.Addressing the Barriers will invite Bristol businesses to hear presentations from experts on China. It will also allow companies to meet expreienced trade advisors, lawyers and international trade consultants. The seminar, at the Royal Marriott Hotel on Thursday , March 15th, forms part of a UK-wide initiative to promote Bristol exports to China, one of the world's fastest growing economies. UKTI South West has run a number of market visits to China and the South West region has a partnership agreement with the Province of Guangzhou. The event focuses on the specific challenges that companies may face when entering this market. Research was recently carried out by Sacha Moore, a UKTI SW International Trade Consultant. The survey of South West companies revealed that certain aspects of trading with China were more challenging than others. She said: There is no doubt that China is one of the world's fastest growing economies and simply cannot be ignored." "There is a wealth of opportunity for businesses in all sectors and many Bristol companies have already had considerable success there." "However, it is a very complex market with its own particular challenges and businesses will have to show a good deal of patience, and invest time and resources if they want to success. But the benefits could be enormous and it is a market not to be overlooked. This event aims to inform businesses of the challenges of China and show them how they can be overcome."
