Event Emita seminar: BRIC - Who has the big guns?
Date Wednesday 19th November 2008
Time 17.15 - 20.00
Venue Holiday Inn, Rugby/Northampton, NN6 7XR
Global investment bank Goldman Sachs coined the term Bric in 2001 to refer to the economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China. It was predicted that together they would overtake the economies of the six richest countries in the world by 2040.
Today the Bric Countries combined make up 15% of the global economy and, due to the western financial crisis, they will increase their relative share of the world economy faster than originally forecast. Countries widely written off at the turn of the decade have been transformed into drivers of global growth by surging export markets, booming commodities and abundant liquidity.
While the BRIC countries are by no means the world's only attractive emerging markets - from time to time, in fact, by the very nature of their rapid development, they will no doubt be subject to fluctuations in performance - over the long haul, these markets provide strong opportunities for investors and will remain high on the list in terms of trade opportunities.
We have chosen a novel balloon event format for this seminar, which will no doubt prove to be entertaining as well as informative. Registration and snacks will commence at 17h15 and the seminar will start at 18h00. There will also be a prize draw with the opportunity to win a return flight to India courtesy of Kingfisher Airlines.
