The company has strong strengths in research, design, manufacturing and the general assembly of oil drilling rigs and equipment for oil exploration and development. Honghua is the world's second largest land drilling rig manufacturer, and China's largest exporter of drilling rigs.

The company owns five subsidiaries with a total of 3600 employees. The companies mainly produces various types of land drilling rigs for drilling 1000m-9000m wells and components (e.g. mud pumps, masts, substructures, drive systems and solids control system).

Honghua has already established overseas offices or JVs in USA, Russia, Saudi, Egypt and etc and mainly for exporting their onshore mechanical drilling modules/rigs.
