The protection of Intellectual Property in China continues to be a serious problemto all companies doing business in China, whether they beWestern or Chinese. Counterfeiting and piracy continue to pose serious problems for many businesses. This year, the US has filed complaints to the WTO concerning the protection of IP rights in China. In addition, as China moves up the technology curve, patent infringement is becoming a large issue. The Chinese government is striving to develop an innovation economy and takes the protection of IP rights seriously, however, there are a number of economic and systemic issues that make effective protection difficult.

This conference brings together an array of experts fromthe UK and Chinese government, industry and lawfirms to provide insight into the current problems that companies are facing and steps that can be taken to counter these problems. Any company with IPR problems in China will benefit from the expertise that will be shared at
this event. There will be many opportunities for delegates to interact, ask questions and build on business networks.
