Chongqing Haifu (Haifu) Technology Co. Ltd. is a manufacturer of medical devices specialised in developing Therapeutic Ultrasound Systems based in Chongqing.

The company has its own Clinical Center for Tumour Therapy and co-operates with the Institute of Ultrasound Engineering in Medicine at Chongqing University of Medical Sciences. After 17 years of research, Haifu has developed and produced a series of products such as the JC Extracorporeal Focused Ultrasound Tumour Therapy System, the first focused ultrasound treatment system for allergic rhinitis. This product has been granted the CE Mark in July 2005. The Haifu System now is installed in over 200 hospitals in China and medical centers in Japan, Korea, Malaysia and the UK. Over 6000 patients have been treated.

The unit selling price for this equipment is around 2 million USD.

Haifu is currently working with wide range of international partners including UTL UK. In 2002, UTL UK and Haifu successfully co-operated to install one in Churchill Hospital, Oxford for clinical trials on liver and kidney cancers.

It’s forecasted that the global market of therapeutic ultrasound equipment will reach 500 million USD in 2007 and will increase to 10 billion USD by 2015.

Haifu is planning to develop UK market and is keen to continue R&D collaboration with the UK.
