New Chinese Labour Contract Law

On 29th June 2007 the People's Republic of China passed a new labour contract law which will come into effect in January 2008. The law will improve the protection of employees and also enhance the protection of employers in the areas of non-competition and confidentiality obligations.
A number of points have been revised including unlawful termination, employer rules and policies, and fixed term contracts.
