UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is organising a Trade mission to Beijing, China for UK companies active in the Biotech & Pharma sectors. All UK registered Biotech & Pharma companies are eligible to participate in the mission.
Mission Programme
The mission will visit Beijing from 16-20 October 2007 to meet Chinese contacts and attend The 11th Healthcare Industry Forum (HIF) at Beijing International Convention Centre. HIF is an annual event focusing on Biotech & Pharma sectors (please refer to the attached overall programme of HIF), which is organised by Beijing Pharma and Biotech Centre (BPBC). On Wednesday 17 October, there will be partnering event organised by UKTI Beijing and CBBC (China Britain Business Council) to enable UK companies to meet and partner with Chinese companies.
On Thursday 18 October, UKTI Beijing will organise a briefing session for all UK missioners in the morning at British Embassy. Transport will be organised to take all delegates from the Embassy to Beijing International Convention Centre to attend the opening ceremony & preliminary session of HIF. All the UK delegates will also be invited to the opening reception organised by BPBC.
On Friday 19 October, BPBC have organised 3 Roundtable meetings and more details of the programme are in the attached HIF flier. The Roundtable discussions are a whole day event and English interpretation will be available.
A UK-China Business Networking Reception will take place right after the Roundtable discussions at the Crown Plaza Parkview Wuzhou Beijing Hotel, a five-star hotel next door to the HIF venue. This is a small event with around 50 invitees which will include governmental officials who are decision-makers on Chinese Biotech & Pharma sectors and also key Chinese companies.
There are also some Roundtable meetings at HIF on Saturday 20 October if UK missioners wish to attend.
UK Trade & Investment Support
Registration to HIF will be free for all UK delegates.
UKTI and CBBC Beijing will identify and organise the partnering meetings on Wednesday 17 October. This event is also free.
Receptions on 18 and 19 October are also free of charge for UK delegates.
