Event Description
Economic growth in China has increased the demand for better health services and eHealth is generating more and more interest in China. There are huge opportunities for UK companies in this area.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) will bring an eHealth Trade Mission to China in October. We will hold an eHealth Seminar in Shenzhen during the Hi-tech Fair period and organise a workshop in Chongqing with the following objectives:
Promote UK’s expertise in the eHealth field
Identify the needs of Chinese government/hospitals in eHealth and suggest in what areas UK companies can add value
Generate sales leads for UK eHealth companies
Topics for the seminar will be taken from:
1. Digital hospital system
2. The NHS project -NPfIT (National Programme for Information Technology)
3. Telemedicine
4. PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)

Further Information
Missioners may wish to consider extending their visit to include a fact finding trip to Hong Kong. The UKTI Hong Kong team can organise an introductory workshop at the consulate conference room (holds 40) under the Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS).
The team could also help with compilation of a guest list, RSVP and senior official opening address. In addition, missioners will receive a one day visit programme with relevant business contacts. A group OMIS rate of £2000 will be charged to organise this 2-day market visit programme to Hong Kong. Target contacts in Hong Kong include: eHealth Associations, Hospital Authorities (NHS equivalent) and eHealth vendors/agents.
