The programme

on your behalf where relevant (please note media interest is not guaranteed) Enabling Innovation – UK-China Partnership in ICT This is the second Enabling Innovation, UK-China Partnership in ICT event to be undertaken. The first was held during December 2008 and visited the cities of Beijing and Shenzhen introducing UK mobile and wireless companies to trade and partnering opportunities. This second event will visit the Chinese cities of Shanghai and Chongqing again focusing on mobile and wireless technologies and applications. These visits are part of the ongoing Enabling Innovation initiative introducing UK companies to qualified ICT trade opportunities in China.

Shanghai Shanghai is a major international trading hub, a focus for business in North Western China and hosts the headquarters of many global companies’ China operations. Shanghai and its neighbouring provinces Jiangsu, Zhejiang, is also home to many of the largest provincial branches of China's telecoms companies. It has the largest concentration of embedded system and integrated circuit clusters in the country. Chongqing Chongqing, is the regional economic hub of South-West China. Chongqing and Chengdu area are an emerging destination for international, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Chinese companies to move to, especially their investments from the coastal area to inland China, particularly IT, software and digital content outsourcing. The area has a cluster of specialised companies and research centres that supply to China's aerospace and defence industries.
