Event Type Outward Mission
Event Date 12/09/2009 - 17/09/2009

Event Description
The development & expansion of air travel in China over the last two decades has entailed a need for modern, larger airports, better integrated with the local road and rail traffic infrastructure. This offers the following particular opportunities to UK companies:

Master planning & concept design
System & equipment supply
Project / airport management
Consultancy
Training & technical co-operation
Financing
Since the restructuring of Civil Administration of Civil Aviation China (CAAC), all airports are now potential clients and have to be approached individually. Foreign companies should concentrate on the dozen or so key international airports where there will be a demand for international standard equipment, design (not airside which is a restricted area) and for operations management information. Initially look at Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Kunming, Chengdu, Shenyang, Xian and Wuhan.

The mission programme has therefore been developed to enable UK participants to target opportunities at 4 key international airports that are undertaking expansion projects.

More details of the mission are available in the flyer below.
