Description of opportunity
Wuhan Guanshan Thermal Power Plant is planning to expand its electricity generation and steam piping system. After the expansion, it can produce 1.6 billion kwh of electricity every year and the thermal efficiency can reach 67.3%. As this project has been recognised as an environmental project and meets the government requirements of the resource-saving and environment-friendly society, it can enjoy the preferential policies of Wuhan East Lake High Tech Development Zone. The total investment for this project is RMB1.568 and the rate of return is estimated to be 9.8%. The cost can be earned back after 11 years.

At present, the project proposal has been approved and is expected to start at the end of 2009.

Details about local partner
Wuhan Guanshan Thermal Power Plant, invested by Wuhan Gaoxin Thermal Power Co Ltd in 2000, is located in Wuhan East Lake High Tech Development Zone. The plant mainly produces electricity and steam for about 20 enterprises in the zone. It currently has two sets of 25 MW generator units with the annual generating capacity of 260 million KwH.
