Event Description
The China-Britain Business Council is pleased to announce that, building on the success from the Jilin investment promotion seminar in 2006 and the impressive growth of the region, the Jilin Provincial Government will be hosting a follow-on seminar in London on Tuesday, 2nd December 2008. The seminar will be hosted by Mr Chen Weigen, the Vice Governor of Jilin Provincial Government and will be held at The Marriot Hotel, Marble Arch, London.

The seminar will offer delegates the chance to hear the Vice Governor speak about Jilin's rapid growth and the exciting opportunities in the province for UK businesses. The Vice Governor will be accompanied by a business delegation.

Changchun, the capital of Jilin, was recently highlighted in a research report on China’s emerging regional cities conducted by CBBC and Leeds University on behalf of UK Trade & Investments. This city, well known as a cradle of China’s auto industry, has a modern portfolio of developing industries including agricultural product processing, bio-medical technology, ICT, opthoelectronic, financial services and transport and logistics. Jilin province has attracted many multinational companies including Volkswagen, Toyota, Siemens, Marubeni, Wal-Mart and Pepsi.
