EMCAT China Seminar (0ct. 2004)

EMCAT and director-e are hosting a seminar on trading with China and its clothing & textile industry; the impact that forthcoming changes will have on UK trade and manufacturing industries, and how to make the most of the opportunities that will emerge.
The seminar will provide both legal and business advice on the implications of the removal of quotas, improve understanding of the background to these changes and why they are being implemented. It will go on to examine the emerging opportunities to manufacture and trade in China and help delegates establish where to find the right information for their companies or organisations.
Programme:
In the morning session speakers, including:

David Bailey of DTI will be joined by representatives from the DTI, UK Trade and Investment and UNIFI to cover topics as diverse as:
an introduction to trading with China policy considerations on the elimination of quotas the current state of play with and in China legal aspects following the elimination of quotas technology solutions.
Company representatives who are already working with China will present their experiences and give delegates some hints and tips on things to do and what not to do!
The afternoon will offer one-to-one meetings with freight forwarders, banks, the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), companies already operating in China plus other organisations able to offer help and support.
