The China-Britain Business Council in partnership with the Confucius Institute, University of Sheffield and UKTI North East is organising the following breakfast briefings in Sheffield and Durham on Doing Business with China: IPR Issues.
The Protection of Intellectual Property ranks as a key concern for UK companies entering the Chinese market. Stories of reverse engineering, fake products and abuse of China’s first to file system abound, but the overall situation is said to be improving. At these briefings, legal firm Stephenson Harwood & Lo provides advice on how UK companies can register their intellectual property in China, what practical measures to take to minimise IPR risk and what to expect in terms of enforcement by the Chinese authorities.
