Development of the digital media industry is rapidly growing in Chengdu and the government is paying high attention to its development. Statistics from the end of 2007 shows that there are 1,850 companies working in the digital media or related industries, representing a total of investment of 3.1 billion RMB, employing 765000 people and generating more than 5.6 billion RMB in revenue, making Chengdu one of the top three city for digital media in China. The city government is now focusing on the digital gaming and digital animation industries and with the presence of most Chinese publisher and as well as foreign companies such as Gameloft, Ubisoft, Eutechnyx and Microsoft, Chengdu is also one of the top three city for Digital gaming in China.
