In 2005 Cathay Pacific Airways launched the Cathay Pacific Business Awards to recognise and reward UK business dynamism and success in Hong Kong and China. The Awards were launched at the time the airline celebrated 25 years of flying between London and its home and hub in Hong Kong and is aimed at enterprises trading in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and/or the People's Republic of China.
As a Hong Kong based company established in 1946, Cathay Pacific has a particular knowledge and experience of the Hong Kong and Chinese market. Since Cathay's inception, we have helped to establish many successful business partnerships between UK, Hong Kong and Chinese companies.
Cathay Pacific was recognised as Hong Kong's leading company in 2006 by the Asian Wall Street Journal in its annual "The Asian Wall Street Journal 200". The survey’s praise centred on Cathay Pacific’s acquisition of fellow Hong Kong based airline, Dragonair, with its unrivalled regional network within China. This investment highlights the importance Cathay Pacific are placing on the Chinese market, and as a company we are aware of the challenges faced by UK companies who look to operate in this market, but ultimately of the multitude of benefits companies like yourselves now enjoy.
The Cathay Pacific Awards honour and raise the profile of enterprises that have capitalised on the opportunities available to operate successfully and profitably in Hong Kong and China. Previous winners have enjoyed raised profile for their activities both in Hong Kong and China and the UK and their employees have benefited from the unique prize trip to Beijing and Hong Kong.
If you think your company has what it takes to impress our distinguished panel of judges, we look forward to receiving your entry.
Successful companies will be notified in November 2007, before being formally presented with their awards at a prestigious lunch event in December 2007.
